Since 1999, a group of Bowdoin College alums have been taking trips to remote parts of the world in search of adventure and diverse cultural experiences. Most of their adventures have included visits to local schools where they would hand out pens and notebooks that they had stowed away in their backpacks and duffels.. The creation of TFS as a formal charity allows them to give back in a more profound way by partnering with schools in poverty stricken areas and providing them with the necessary supplies and uniforms that they so desperately need.
